Images For A Cure 2011 - The Details

Images for a Cure

As posted last week, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re once again participating in Images for a Cure, a national fundraising event held by photographers, benefiting breast cancer research.  As promised, here are all the details.

Images for a Cure calls for photographers to offer portrait session bookings for one day in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with all session fee proceeds benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Just like last year, we’re going to cheat a bit and offer three five days, starting next week, Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 21.  Your portrait session doesn’t have to be scheduled during that time frame, just booked (i.e., paid for with your donation).

In exchange for your donation we’re offering portrait mini sessions of whatever type you like - couples’ portraits, family portraits, kids’ portraits, or senior portraits - and we’re going to offer them three ways, depending on your donation…

  • A donation of $50, a significant savings over our normal rates, is the minimum required to reserve your portrait session.
  • A donation of $75 will reserve your portrait session and entitle you to a 10% discount on all prints and products from your session.
  • A donation of $100 (or more) will reserve your portrait session and entitle you to a 20% discount on all prints and products from your session.

Here’s what you’ll need to do to reserve your special portrait session…

  1. At some point Monday, October 17 through Friday, October 21, head over to this website and give your donation benefiting The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Use the list above to determine how much you’d like to give, but keep in mind that you can give more if you so desire.  Your donation serves as your session fee and will reserve your portrait session with us.
  2. Contact us to schedule your portrait session.  Again, your portrait session doesn’t have to be scheduled for the Oct. 17 - Oct. 21 time frame; that’s just when you’ll need to provide your donation.  When you contact us, please let us know you’re participating in the Images for a Cure event.  You’ll also need to email us (.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)) your donation receipt so we can apply the appropriate discounts and keep track of everything.
  3. After your portrait session is complete, you’ll be provided with an online gallery where you’ll be able to purchase prints and other products from your portrait session, just like any other client.  We’ll send you relevant pricing info when you contact us to schedule your session.  If you’d like to know beforehand, just let us know.
  4. Feel great about what you’ve done to help this great cause.
  5. Share this post with all your family and friends on Facebook and Twitter.  The more support, the better!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Regardless of whether or not you choose to book a portrait session with us, please consider making a donation.  Again, you can head over to this website and give whatever you’re comfortable with.  It all goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and every penny counts.

Finally, whether you choose to participate or not, please use the share links below to help spread the word to those that might wish to participate.  This is a great cause, and the more support we can get, the better.  Thanks!

It’s That Time Of Year Again - Images For A Cure

Images for a Cure

My, how time flies when you’re having fun!  It’s October again.  October brings us Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which brings us Images for a Cure, a national fundraising event for breast cancer research.  Once again, for one day in the coming weeks, we’ll be offering portrait mini-sessions at a special price, all session fee proceeds for which will benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

We had great success with this event last year, and we hope to do even better this year.  We’ll have more details soon.  In the meantime, please take a second to share this with your family and friends; we’ve made it easy with the share links below.  Thanks!

Where The Heck Have We Been?

As some of you know, we’ve been on a bit of a hiatus for the past few months, and it’s been quite an adventure.  Here’s a quick summary of the events that have been occupying us for the last several months…

It all started back in February when I (Chris) asked my then-girlfriend, Aimee, to be my wife, to which, I’m pleased to report, she responded “yes!”  Two days later, we began looking for our first house, assuming it would take a couple months and we’d have plenty of time to plan our wedding and honeymoon without having to worry about house buying paperwork, at least for a little while.  To our surprise, we fell in love with the second house we saw, the first day we started looking and decided to put in an offer.  Two-and-a-half months later, all of which felt like was spent signing paperwork for the house, our families gathered at our new home and watched us exchange our vows.  The following day, we flew to Greece for our two-week honeymoon in Athens and the islands of Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete.  A few weeks later, it was time to celebrate our marriage with family and friends at our reception dinner, also at our home.  And finally, a few weeks after our reception, I crossed the Atlantic once more to spend two weeks in Tanzania, Africa with family (a-m-a-z-i-n-g-!).

We’ve been a bit busy with life for the past few months, but we’re back!  We have some exciting things planned for the coming months that we can’t wait to share with you.  Over the next several weeks, we’ll also be sharing some photos and insights from our honeymoon in Greece, as well as my trip to Tanzania.

Thanks for reading!

And here’s the proof.  While this shot isn’t very Greece-y, it was taken on the roof of our hotel in Athens… I promise.
